Every Sunday there's great music and messages by an amazingly talented team. This church is involved in awesome service in the community. Services year round at 9:15 and 11:00.

JUC has been a wonderful source of support during long-term and chronic illnesses in our family. The message of it being a "spiritual home for the liberal spirit" is not accompanied by an agenda for participants, other than the spiritual encouragement we all need to step into life's difficulty. Most recently, JUC has stepped up to meet the needs of those of us who've been rocked by the recent election. I am grateful.

Just started going here with my wife, who's gone off-and-on since she was very young.
I was raised Lutheran but ultimately couldn't bring myself to continue believing that people who weren't born and raised Christian were going to hell. Since then, I've found a lot more about Christianity that doesn't fit my own beliefs. But outside of the judgement and guilt, there have been many elements of belonging to a church that I have missed. I want to focus on mindfulness and spirituality, and I believe in the importance of community, solidarity and ritual. I also want my kids to have the moral teaching and spiritual growth that Sunday school offers, without stuffing dogma I don't even subscribe to down their throats.
JUC is a place that's welcoming, accepting, and inviting. Sermons focus on personal growth and the strength of a community of people who support one another, taking wisdom from other faiths rather than denouncing them. You may hear quotes and lessons from Christians, Buddhists, Taoists, civil rights activists, and anyone else with a strong focus on peace and love, woven into a pertinent and accessible message by an inspiring, socially-aware minister. Music is contemporary and uplifting. Smiles are genuine.
I don't personally believe a loving and all-powerful God would let innocent people suffer and die prematurely, cast misguided human beings he supposedly loves into eternal despair, or allow people to commit horrific atrocities and tear families or entire countries apart. I don't believe a single book written thousands of years ago negates the validity of modern science. But I do believe in being humble and thankful for my many blessings. I believe I'm a better, more caring and centered person when I participate in the ritual of communal, spiritual meditation. I believe people are better to each other when they gather to practice the proliferation of peace, love and justice together.
JUC seems to be just the place for me to fill the hole i made when I left the Christian faith, and to introduce the benefits of church to my growing family, without all the dogmatic judgement and conflict if an abrahamic religion that preaches all others are wrong. It immediately felt like a new, spiritual home.Added April 03, 2017 by Corey Scott - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
As an gay man and an agnostic, this is the most welcoming church I have ever been to....by far.
